Substantial changes to regulations have been put into place binding local public health unit Medical Officers of Health when a breach in Infection Control practices has occurred which may put patients at risk. Major areas of focus have related to disinfection and sterilization of reusable devices, multi-dose vials use, risk of blood borne virus transmission, and general IPAC practices. Since the new regulations were put in place, numerous physician and dental practices have been cited, the professionals referred to their regulatory colleges for potential action, and the public health unit findings have been posted publically (as this is part of the new requirement).
Practice Health Check is dedicated to improving Infection Prevention and Control practices across all settings. Our team consists of national leaders in the fields of infection prevention and control, medical microbiology, and infectious diseases.
